Peloton Cycling & Bike Fitting Center & RediBike Cycling & Fitness have joined forces to create the area's USAT Registered Exclusive Elite Multisport Endurance Team. This exclusive team has been created to develop it's member’s knowledge and performance in the multisport arena, with a specific focus on long distance (full & half distance) triathlons.

Our goal is to “Create Monsters” in the sport of triathlon by developing our Team Member’s skills in the individual sports that make up triathlon. We hope that when our tri kits are seen at races and in public training sessions, people will take a second look.

Although the team is focused on the longer distance "endurance" triathlons (IM & Half IM distance), we also welcome athletes of any distance specialty such as Sprint, Olympic and even Xterra if they are striving to excel in their divisions. Our hopes for this team is to foster our MultiSport athletes by providing our members with access to the top of the line gear, knowledge, training and coaching.

Jerry Steinhoff
Co-Owner, Peloton Cycling & Bike Fitting Center

Hi, my name is Jerry Steinhoff. I’m a 57 year old triathlete.

Let’s go back to the year 1980. I was 26 years old and decided to take up running because I was out of shape and fat. I decided to start my road to fitness with a 1 mile run. So I plotted a 16 block course in the city I was living in. During that run I could only shuffle a block, and then walk a block. But I completed it. I remember sitting on the front steps of my house right after that “run” gasping for air, thinking that was one of the toughest things I ever did.

Little did I know where those first few running steps were going to take me. Those steps took me from that 1 mile run all the way to running marathons.

Then in 1986 I did my first triathlon, it was in Three Rivers MI. I dusted off my JC Penney bike and finished that race, I was hooked. So fast forward to 2011, it’s been 31 years of doing running events and triathlons. I completed every distance of triathlons, from sprints to ironmans. I did my first IM distance race in 1999, and have done 1 or 2 IM a year ever since. I really like the physical and mental challenge that the longer events put you thru.

I retired in 2009. Then I hired a coach named Zach Ruble. With his guidance and new found extra time to train, I managed to climb to the top of my age group.

My 2012 plans along with Coach Ruble guidance are another 1 or 2 IM this year, with a few 70.3 mixed in.

Co-Owner, Peloton Cycling & Bike Fitting Center
I am married and have 1 daughter who is 2 1/2 years old. I'm the owner of Peloton Cycling & Bike Fitting Center. I am also employed part time by Parkview Hospital. I have been doing triathlons for about 7 years now. I've completed 6 Ironman's and numerous 70.3's. I also enjoy racing 1/2 Marathons and full Marathons. My favorite distance is the full IM distance because it's the most challenging. I'm driven to be the best that I can in whatever I'm doing and am motivated by a challenge so the Ironman distance is perfect for me. I love racing in the heat because I know that others view the heat as a hurdle. I have been blessed to be mentored by many of the most competitive and strongest triathletes in the Fort Wayne area and contribute much of my success in multisport to training and racing with them. My best event so far has been IM Louisville in 2011 finishing in 9:52:36. My goal is to better that time this year. My plans for this year's racing season is IM Texas in May and then most likely Muncie 70.3 and possibly Steelhead 70.3. There may be a race or 2 added in there somewhere along the way (keeping my goals set high)!

I am 29 years old but will turn 30 this year, so I will be competing in a whole new age group! I am a former competitive swimmer and water polo player turned triathlete after college. I have been competing more competitively within the last 4 years, especially since I have a fiancé as a pro. That makes being lazy pretty difficult. Since I've began competing, some of my greatest accomplishments are Race Across America on a 4 person female team, Ironman Wisconsin, and sub 5 hour for 70.3. This year, my races are New Orleans 70.3, Muncie 70.3, and Steelhead 70.3. I'll also be doing some other Muncie Multisport race.

2012 will be my 21st year competing in triathlons. I started as a freshman at Indiana University and did my first race in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Although I favor sprint and intermediate distances I have raced up to the Ironman distance with my best finish a 12:23 at IM Wisconsin in 2006. I made the USAT honorable mentions list for All-Americans in 2010 and qualified to race in the Best of the US race on multiple occasions. My goals for the upcoming season are to again qualify for the Xterra National Championships in Ogden,UT and to finish a half-Ironman in under 5 hours. I will also be competing in Cyclocross in the fall as well as the Iceman Cometh mountain bike race in November.

I am 49 yrs. old and have been married to my wife Robin for 25 years. We have 2 children. My daughter Taylor is 24, lives in Muncie, IN. and is employed by Ball State University. Zach is 21, attends IPFW, is an assistant manager for Mikes Car Wash and lives at home. I am the plant manager for The Waynedale Mill Inc, a small custom cabinet shop here in Fort Wayne. I purchase material, schedule jobs and oversee the day to day operations. Our gross sales this year will be a little over $700,000.00. I also work part time at Redibike, in service and sales, on an as needed basis.

After almost 20 yrs of chasing kids around and eating concession stand food, at 193 lbs. it was time to either get a bigger pair of jeans or do something. I started going to the Y on a regular basis. During a spin class someone suggested that I sign up for the Warsaw triathlon. I thought I would do it just to say I did it. I took swim lessons January of 2007 and the following June I did my first tri...at that race my wife recognized Mark Lulling from church, made eye contact, and the rest is history!

Since then I have been hooked. I have tried to make triathlon a way of life by exercising and eating healthier. I currently maintain a weight of 175 lbs. and typically drop about 10 lbs. while training for IM. I have completed IM Wisconsin (2009) 13:40, IM Louisville (2011) 13:02, several HIM's and other shorter races. My personnel best time at marathon distance is 3:43 and half marathon is 1:33.

My goal for 2012 is a top 10 AG finish at the 70.3 distance and a sub 3:30 marathon at the end of the season. I would like to sign up for a yet to be determined IM for 2013 with a sub 12 hr. finish.

I am 38 years old and a Veterinary Surgeon living in Las Vegas with my girlfriend Jaime.  I dabbled in triathlons for a number of years and then got more serious 2-3 years ago when I joined Spiece and the Peloton Cycling Center.  I was living in Fort Wayne at the time and met and trained with many of the experienced PR Multisport team members.  Professional triathlete Zach Ruble has been my coach the last two years and it has been amazing.  I have completed three full ironmans (Louisville, St George and Wisconsin) with my best time at Wisconsin last year, 11:11:31.  I feel my strong suit is half ironman distance races where I have completed quite a few.  I have had an age group win and a few podium finishes and qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships the last two years.  My best finish is at the World 70.3 Championships in Clearwater 2010 with a time of 4:35:00.  I have also completed one of the hardest half ironman races in the world, Savageman in Maryland, and climbed the famous Westernport Wall.    My plan for 2012 is to race Texas 70.3, IM Texas, Muncie 70.3 and hopefully the 70.3 Worlds here at home in Vegas.  I would also like to try another marathon this year and maybe qualify for Boston.  I love the challenges and fitness that triathlons bring to me and all the amazing friendships I have gained thru these experiences.

I started bicycle racing in the early 80’s as a junior (with my father) in Orlando, Florida until the late 80’s; during this same time I also competed in many triathlons, also with my father.  In the mid 90’s I did a little mountain bike racing in Michigan for a few years.  In July of 2005 I started riding again and began racing again in March of 2007.  I will continue to actively ride until God decides otherwise.  I now live in Fort Wayne, IN with my wife Petra, three children Brittany, Sierra, and Sydney, and our dog Moose.

I am 36 years old, married for 10 years to my wife, no kids, and work at Lincoln financial. I enjoy racing of all kinds (running, cycling, duathlons, & tri's) along with training with my friends. I started running in 2008 to loose some weight. I trained for my first 5k, with no previous running experience, and after completing it became a race junky. I did 15 races the next year and 19 the year after. In 2010 i did my first tri (an indoor), and after meeting and being mentored by my now good friends Jerry and Mark, did my first Sprint that fall. I decided that the next year 2011 I wanted to go for it all and complete a full Ironman. I bought my Felt S32 at Redi-Bike, hired Zach to coach me, and did 80% of my riding at the Peloton. In 2011 I completed 2 Half-Ironman distance races, one in Monroe MI and the other in Muncie IN, then took a trip south to Louisville to complete my dream. I love multi-sport and especially enjoy my second family it has provided. I look forward to improving my times and taking on new challenges.

Tyler Smith
I am relatively new to multisport racing with only two years of experience. I have been competing in Marathons and Half Marathons since 2006 and was looking for a new challenge. In 2011, I completed my first 70.3 distance triathlon in Muncie and am registered for my first full Ironman in Louisville 2012. I plan to complete two additional 70.3 races along with a couple shorter distances races for 2012. I have been a member of the peloton center since July 2011 and will be putting in a lot of miles in there over the next year.

I am recently married (November 2011), have no kids (yet) and work at Lincoln Financial Group. I also play hockey in an adult league throughout the winter and coach a high school all star team.

I have been married to Kathy for 26 plus years and we have 1 daughter-19 year old Laken Rene.  I am employed at Micropulse Inc., a medical device and implant manufacturer.  Since 1997 I have done many triathlons and running events.  Several Sprints, couple of Olympics, 3 Half Ironman, and 3 Full Ironman distance events.  On the running side, I have completed several Half Marathons, 6 Marathons, and 11 50k Ultra-distance events.  In the last 3 years I have only competed in 1 triathlon.  Life seemed to have gotten in the way.  Our daughter is now out on her own and hopefully I will have more time to rededicate to the sport of triathlon.  The opportunity that the PR Multisport Endurance Team offers is unique and hopefully it is the catalyst for more training, better fitness, better finishes, and good times.

I am a 37-year-old dentist, and I practice in Warsaw, Indiana.  My husband Todd and I have one dependent, Bella, our insanely furry golden doodle who also serves as my run pacer.

I started triathlons in 2010 because I needed a new carrot to chase.  I started with Pokagon in May, then Steelhead 70.3 in July, and Breakwater 70.3 in August.  I decided at that point to get a trainer for Ironman Canada in August 2011.  Part of the training included Muncie 70.3.  With the help of coach Lisa Mueller, I was able to complete IM Canada in 93-degree heat, although unfortunately adorned with a glow necklace.

My goal then, naturally, is to finish in the daylight!  My future plans include IM Texas in May, and one IM race a year until my first knee replacement.  I have actually loved training indoors for the May race at the Peloton cycling center because winter has flown by without even knowing it.  I am so thankful for this facility because I can train safely for any race, any time of year.   But I am most thankful for the camaraderie that the center creates for an otherwise lonely yet strangely addicting sport.
